Last night before going to bed, ... (it's a sleepover at B's, she and I and one other girl who doesn't know anything about the dynamic going on...) I wanted to tell B something I thought was both very amusing, and very true. The other girl was around a bit, though, so I wrote it and handed the note to her as she was getting in bed. It read: "If you want to snuggle, you know where to find me. *grin* She was amused. We spoke for a minute and went to separate beds.
In the morning, she did come downstairs and snuggle with me for a bit. I was clothed, which I usually am not, but she did slip out of the bathrobe she was in. I figured it was still best to leave on my nightwear: VS silky pants and a regular shirt. It was nice. It made me happy. We spooned, I got to put my arm around her, eventually I was nuzzled up to her and she purred when I pressed my lips against her shoulder.
This is good. This is fine. She's more comfortable with me, or easier for me to be around, when there's no male interference. I do think she's in better mental space than the last time we spent time together... It gives me hope for future positive interactions.
The next time I sleep over here, when both of them are in the house, I plan to deliver each of them the same note. Possibly a verbal delivery: "Just so you know, if either of you feel like snuggling, or both, you know where to find me." *grin* They've both said they like snuggling with me. (I'd also try this if Dave slept with me downstairs - invite B in if she wanted - while B was upstairs, but I have no idea if that'll ever happen. That would be a pretty clear line of communication, especially for us...) (and there's no slight if one doesn't want to, of course, but to let them ... but they do know that, right? okay, thinking too much.)
