The actual start of BiCamp: lists.
Aug. 28th, 2005 03:23 pmI've made a list, I've checked it more than twice, I've shared it, and today I buy the necessary non-perishables I don't already have. I'll buy the food items that need to be made/prepared as late as possible, such as fruit, so that'll probably be Thursday evening, possibly Wednesday, depending on when I get out of work.
I'm excited to have time amongst friends, sit at a campfire, partake of the potluck, wear sarongs, see sarongs on others, watch kids play, throw frisbee, laugh a lot, get hugs and give them, sleep in my new tent (did I mention I bought a tent? It looks really cool; I hope it's awesome), soak up sun w/o getting burnt as I did last year, overcome the hydration challenge, and generally have a wonderful time away from computer, A/C, family, TV, and NYC. None of those things are bad, but they're omnipresent, and sometimes it's good to get the hell out. If the tent rocks, I'll start thinking about the nearby state parks and who might want to accompany me on 1-night overnights every so often. That would be cool, right?
