Fascinating.
Jun. 8th, 2005 11:10 amI have no idea how to write what I want to talk about right now. It has to do with relationships, marriage, discord, happiness in unconventionality, family, and other people. I might get back to this later.
In short, I don't see why people were so het up (no pun intended) about gay marriage ruining the Institution of Marriage; most people want out of institutions, be they higher learning, mental, or other. It's a contract like many others, it seems: sometimes people are perfectly fine with it, other times people chafe at the boundaries. Sometimes people change the contract to suit all involved, sometimes the contract is broken. If your contract is with God, then there's no changing it and no option to break it and you have to deal with it as such (or so I understand it). (Then again, the Judeo-Christian God seems to be following a non-interference policy of late...) If your contract is with one, two, or X many other people, then there's more room for work to be done.
Also, it's interesting when people notice that what I do in counselor-mode is a skill.
